Look for a sign reading “Lower East Side Toy Company”, go through the gate, down an alley and up a set of stairs. Drinks arrive in teacups and bottled beer comes in a brown bag, which is not a bit: that is how it was done here when doing it any other way was illegal.
Most hidden bars in this city are a design decision. This one is a survivor.
What to know
The alley entrance is the door. There is a smaller back room behind the back room.
