A New York trip built around you, with your own custom Google Map, by someone who lives here and walks it for a living.
- We start with a few questions: who is coming, how long you have, how far you like to walk, how you want to eat, and what you would rather skip.
- You get a day-by-day plan with the timing worked out: which neighborhoods on which day, where to eat near them, when to go to the busy things so they are not busy.
- You get a custom Google Map of your trip: every stop pinned, color-coded by day, with our notes on each one. It opens in the Google Maps app you already have, works on your phone all week, and you can follow it or ignore it.
- Every recommendation comes from the places on this site, which nobody pays to appear on.
- One round of changes after you read it, because plans change once flights are booked.

Not a tour guide. A New Yorker who loves this city and wants to show it to you. Plan the day together, or hand them the keys and see New York like a local.
- A New Yorker for the day who is genuinely into this city, not a guide reading from a script.
- Your way: tailor the day to what you love, and change your mind as you go.
- Or theirs: hand over the plan and let your friend take you where locals actually go.
- Someone to eat with, drink with and talk to. The meals you would otherwise eat alone at a counter.
- The places a visitor does not find alone: the side street, the bar with no sign, the view nobody posts.
- Photographs all day, as many as you want, so you go home with pictures of yourself in New York and not just of New York.
- After the day, text your friend with questions for the rest of your trip.
Price on request · Half day or full day, by arrangement
Paid in person when you meet, before the day starts. Meals, drinks and anything else bought during the day are paid for by whoever buys them.
Put your phone away and follow someone who knows the way. One party at a time, never a group of strangers.
- The pace, the questions and the stops are yours, because nobody else is on the walk.
- Any MUSEENYC walking tour led in person, or a route built around what you actually want to see.
- Your guide is your navigation, so nobody has to watch a map: you look up at the city instead.
- We take the photographs, all day, as many as you want. Your guide is your photographer for the whole walk: ask at any moment, or just keep walking and get sent the ones you did not know were being taken.
- You go home with real pictures of yourselves in New York instead of selfies held at arm’s length, in the spots worth standing in, taken by someone who knows where to stand and when the light is right.
- Ask anything, all day. That is what a licensed guide is for.
- Stops for coffee, a slice or a sit-down whenever you want them. This is a walk, not a march.
Price on request · About 2 to 3 hours, longer by arrangement
Paid in person at the start of the walk. Cash preferred.
Ride the city behind someone who knows the safe way through it, at your pace, with nobody else in the group.
- You follow the guide on protected lanes, greenways and quiet streets, with nobody else in the group.
- Routes like the Hudson Greenway, the bridges into Brooklyn, or the park loops, with regular stops.
- For riders who are comfortable on a bike and in traffic. Citi Bike or your own.
- We take the photographs on the way, as many as you want. Stop and ask any time, or just ride and get sent the shots from the spots worth stopping for.
- Every rider signs a waiver before setting off, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign.
Price on request · About 2 to 3 hours
