Going? Tell them MUSEENYC sent you. It's not a discount and there's nothing to redeem — we just want them to know where you heard it.
The typeface is the first thing you notice — a hard, chunky, slightly rounded thing that looks lifted straight from a Taco Bell menu board circa 1987. We mean that as a compliment. It sets expectations low in a way the food then walks straight past.
These are San Francisco Mission-style burritos: foil-wrapped, dense, heavy enough to be a decision. They are made with obvious care, and the flavour is direct — no sauce doing damage control, nothing hedged. The Dankwrap is the house version and the one they would rather you ordered.
Then there is the Guinness on tap, which nobody asked a burrito shop for and which turns out to be exactly right. It is not a gimmick if it works.
What to know
Open to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and to midnight on Friday and Saturday, which makes it one of the more reliable late options on this stretch of Third Avenue. There are other branches — Williamsburg, Greenwich Village, Rockaway Beach — but this is the one we go to.
