A ballgame is one of the most underrated things to do in New York, especially if you’re younger and have never thought of it as your kind of night. You get to be part of a huge crowd for very little money, and that’s the whole reason it’s here.
What to know
Buy the cheap tickets. Weekday games, and some weekends, are where the prices are low. There’s no need to pay for premium seats: the nosebleeds are a good vibe, and the crowd is the point.
Don’t spend money inside. We know they won’t love hearing it, but skip the concessions. Eat and drink before the game, after it, or both, and go in to enjoy the game.
Leave around the 6th or 7th inning. You beat the rush out of the stadium, and especially the crush at the subway station.
That’s what the $ means here: a cheap ticket and nothing bought inside. If you have the money to spend in the stadium, you already know how.
Going? Tell them MUSEENYC sent you. It's not a discount and there's nothing to redeem — we just want them to know where you heard it.
