Six acres along the East River on the site of the Domino Sugar Refinery, with the syrup tanks, cranes and a stretch of elevated gantry kept in place rather than cleared. The elevated walkway runs above the park on the old structure.

What to know

It faces Manhattan straight on, which makes sunset the obvious hour and a crowded one. There’s a taco stand, a dog run and a small beach-volleyball court. The Williamsburg Bridge lands a fifteen-minute walk south.
