The same designers as Central Park, working a decade later on land they liked better — and it shows. This is the more rural of the two: the Long Meadow runs nearly a mile without a building in sight, a trick Manhattan cannot do, and the woods behind it feel genuinely wild rather than arranged.

What to know

Bordered by Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Windsor Terrace and Flatbush, so the entrance you pick changes the day entirely. Grand Army Plaza is the grand front door; the Lincoln Road side drops you straight into the quieter woods.
