A basement under a nondescript corner building, from the late Sasha Petraske, who taught most of the bartenders you admire. Low ceilings, booths, a live trio most nights and drinks made slowly on purpose.

It has been quietly excellent for nearly twenty years while flashier rooms have come and gone around it.
