A pint of Guinness is a test a bar either passes or doesn’t — the pour, the settle, the temperature, the glass. This is the best one we’ve had in New York, and the room makes no fuss about it: dark, low, and full of nooks and corners where you can actually find a seat.
What to know
It never seems to get overly crowded, which around here is its own kind of achievement. Order the Guinness and let them take the time it needs. Just off Washington Square Park, which makes it an easy end to an evening that started there.
