Reclaimed wood, tile, a good whiskey list and a kitchen that takes the food seriously. When it opened it was one of the only places in the 80s doing this, and it is still the first answer when someone asks where to drink up here.

It is a neighborhood bar that happens to be good rather than a destination that happens to be uptown.

What to know

Busy after work and at weekend brunch.
