A wide green lawn at the northern end of Battery Park City, with the Hudson on one side and almost no through traffic on the other. Good crowd, and this park hits differently if you’re a local — plenty of green space to picnic on, never overcrowded, and restrooms close by, which matters more than anyone admits.
What to know
The sunset over the Hudson is absolutely gorgeous and worth timing a visit around. Works for a whole day, alone or with a group. There’s a playground at the north end, and the esplanade running south connects the whole way to Battery Park.
