Going? Tell them MUSEENYC sent you. It's not a discount and there's nothing to redeem — we just want them to know where you heard it.

The art is the reason to go and the building is the reason to stay. Salon 94 occupies a Beaux-Arts mansion just off Fifth Avenue, and walking in gets you a serious contemporary programme and a look inside a house most people only ever see from the street. The staircase alone justifies the visit.

What to know

Free, like almost every commercial gallery — nobody will ask you for anything. Check the site before you go: it closes between shows, and hours are gallery hours rather than museum hours. The Guggenheim is a block away and the Met is a walk down Fifth.
