Second Avenue in the 80s was German for most of the twentieth century. Almost all of it is gone. Heidelberg is what is left: schnitzel, wurst, a waitress in a dirndl and beer served in a glass boot that gets passed round the table.
It could easily have turned into a theme. It has stayed a restaurant.
What to know
Go with a group. The boot is not a one-person exercise.
