A third of a mile of walkway cantilevered over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway — the traffic runs underneath your feet — facing Lower Manhattan straight on. Benches the whole way, all of them pointed at the water.
What to know
Ten minutes end to end, and worth doing slowly. Sunset is the obvious hour and the crowd knows it; just after sunset, when the towers light up, is better and emptier. The Heights streets behind it are half the reason to come — Orange, Pineapple and Cranberry are a two-minute walk.
